What is a vCard QR code?

A vCard QR code holds contact details in the vCard format phones understand: name, phone, email, company, website and address. Scanning it offers “Add to Contacts” with every field filled in, so nobody types your number. It's the simplest way to make a business card scannable.

A static vCard code holds this text itself (vCard 3.0). A dynamic vCard holds a short link to a contact page with a Save contact button, so you can change the details later and add a photo.

VCard QR code not working?

It shows as text instead of a contact
A few older Android cameras show the raw card. Google Lens reads it on almost every Android phone, or use a dynamic vCard, which opens a page with a Save contact button.
It's hard to scan on a small card
Too many fields make a dense static code. Remove the note and address, print it bigger, or switch to dynamic.
The photo doesn't appear
Photos only work on dynamic vCards: a static code has no room for an image.
